The Lightning tournament consists of two stages, a group stage and a knock-out stage. Six players per group play a round robin tournament, the best players qualify for the knock-out stage.

Handicap according to rank reduced by one stone applies.

Thinking Times

10 minutes sudden death. Playing meaningless moves to drive the opponent over his clock is considered unsportsmanlike behaviour and expected not to been seen.
