The Arithmeum is located in the research institute for discrete mathematics in Bonn.
The exhibits show the historical development of calculating from mechanical calculating machines to modern highly integrated logical chips.
Visitors may view historical arithmetic books dating back to the time of
Gutenberg, and may try to interactively design their own small computer chip.
The head of the institute for discrete mathematics, Professor Dr. Jens Vygen, happens to be a local Go player.
Jens has offered to arrange for guided tours through Arithmeum for EGC participants, and the Arithmeum has agreed to sponsor free entry to Arithmeum for all EGC participants.
